When you walk into Goodwill, does everything look like this?
Have no fear! A lot of things look like that!^^ Walking into a thriftshop can be overwhelming. There are a few 'guidlines' you can live by to improve your thrifty-shopping skills!
1. Thriftshopping takes time! --Many thriftshops have racks, stacks and piles of clothes, shoes etc. Like I stated earlier--many things look like that horrid sweater(pictured above). You have to dif to find that 'golden' item. If you are a newbie at thriftshopping, allow at least an hour to shop, but perderrably 2 hours. The longer you practice, the less time you will need to find a true 'dig'.
2. Paitence!--If you have ever been inside a Goodwill, Plato's Closet or any other kind of thriftshop--you know therer are TONS of clothes! DON'T get DISCOURAGED! Believe me, there are some really BEAUTIFUL outfits hidden in thriftshops! Which leads me to number three.
3. REMEMBER---People donated or sold their clothes to that store. NOT EVERYONE wears sweaters like that (^^).
****FUN FACT**** IF you see a piece of clothing that has a black line through the logo on the tag, it was donated by a nearby store. My Target donates left over clearance clothes to my Goodwill.
4. HAVE FUN!--Take friends, kids, boyfriends/girlfriends or spouse! Make it a family thing! I go with my sister! She actually taught me how to thriftshop!
This blog is named "Borrowed Fashion" because that is what thriftshopping is- Borrowing! You buy other pieces of peoples' clothing and put together your own look. Please continue to read! I will write a new blog post every 2 weeks on Monday!
